Grid Systems & Layout Design Workshop

As part of the AMETEK Design Internship Program, I conducted a hands-on workshop on Grid Systems and Layout Design to help interns understand the fundamentals of visual hierarchy, alignment, spacing, and content organization.
Using real newspaper layouts as study material, interns analyzed page structures, identified underlying grid systems, and reconstructed layouts to explore how designers create balance, readability, and consistency in visual communication.
The session combined practical exercises, group discussions, and design critiques, enabling participants to develop a structured approach to layout design and gain a deeper understanding of how grid systems are applied across print, marketing, web, and UI/UX design projects.
